This week’s blog post is a bit different and comes with a bit of news.
As most of you that are reading this will already know, I decided to try my hand at starting a YouTube channel (HERE). It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a long, long time but didn’t have the courage to go through with.
In the interest of leading by example, I decided to go for it and give it a shot! Make those YouTube dreams a reality, I guess!
As I was sitting earlier today (Wednesday), editing this weeks latest episode, I realised I wasn’t happy and that I wasn’t having any fun. Not like the fun I had when I first started Dreamed Into Reality. I guess I came to the realisation that I had lost sight of why I started it in the first place.
The original concept of Dreamed Into Reality was that I wanted to create a place I could document my journey as I try my best to turn my own personal dreams into a reality. Specifically, my business ventures.
Somewhere along the way, it turned into me giving out advice. I’m not saying any of it is bad advice because it’s not. It’s fucking awesome. But, my goal was to inspire others by sharing my journey and to hopefully one day, start sharing others as well.
YouTube is great and I am so glad I went for it but this was never supposed to take over all of my free time. It was supposed to document my road to building up my own business from the ground so that I can look back one day and go,
“Holy shit, I done that?”
Instead, I somehow let it take over. I began to let my attention and focus onto my actual business drift and unfortunately, that just can’t happen.
I thought the YouTube venture was where I was supposed to be but I think I’ve now realised that it’s just not the right time. Dreamed Into Reality, for now, belongs here in this blog. And from now on, it’s going to be exactly what I started it to be in the first place…a journal. An awesome journal.
Instead of me preaching to you about how ‘you can do anything’ and that kinda stuff, I’m going to let the journal be the motivator. I’ll let my story inspire you to create your own.
So, I’ve scrapped this Sunday’s episode and instead bring you this post in it’s place.
This is where Dreamed Into Reality needs to be right now. I don’t know what the future holds but that is tomorrow’s concern.
I’m still going to call myself The Spider-Man of Blogging and you will probably see that stupid yellow mask pop up in the odd photo, by the way. This is simply because I find it funny. For the most part though, it will weekly updates on business and just general life stuff.
I am excited to get back to basics!
Thank you to anyone who’s been reading my blogs weekly, it honestly means the world to me.
Here we go, team!
Have fun and stay happy…
